Noble Automotive Limited

A supercar specialist has completed extensive refurbishment of its headquarters, including the installation of maxit self-levelling floor screed in two key areas.

Leicestershire based Noble Automotive Ltd utilised maxit floor 4655 DuroFlow industrial screed over existing uneven concrete floors at an 8mm - 10mm thickness. This was followed by priming and the application of an epoxy self levelling finish.

The Floor 4655 screed was applied in two 500m square areas that the company has refurbished to house development and production of its hand crafted M15 supercar.

The resin based screed was applied to each area in a single day, with priming for the high build coating taking place the following day in a fast track sequence. This allowed each section of floor to be laid from start to finish within five working days.

Graham Wright, Contracts Manager at Pola Flooring said "we always find the maxit screed works best as part of a system. It provides a good even flow when laying, a fine finish and the best overall performance."

The manufacture of any quality performance car demands a work environment that matches in precision. When a lead car manufacturer  needed to upgrade part of their production workshop adjacent to the pre-delivery inspection and final tuning service area, Pola Flooring Limited were their first choice. The vehicle manufacturer were looking for a heavy duty solution which would blend the the existing power floated concrete surface.

Following the recommendation of Pola Flooring a self smoothing screed was applied and installed to suit a tight programme and also to provide a finish that met all of the clients requirements, ensuring a minimum of loss of production.

Lear Corporation

The Lear Corporation is one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers and Pola Flooring installed 8000 Sq mtrs of Flexible Self Smoothing Polyurethane Screed, as well as 1000 Sq mtrs of 6mm trowel applied screed at the company’s seating division in the Midlands.

Timescales were tight and Pola installed the floor in just ten days during an annual shut-down at the plant.

At the Lear Corporation, the floor was installed to provide a better and more easily maintainable working surface and was finished in contrasting colours to denote working and gangway areas.
