Ricoh Arena

Home to Coventry City Football Club, the Ricoh Arena not only plays host to Championship football, it is also carving out a niche as a key location for corporate events and hospitality.

As a result, floors at the site need to look good and provide a safe secure footing for the thousands of fans and corporate guests using the facility throughout the week.

Flowcrete’s time proven coating system Flowcoat SF41 has been installed across 10,000 square metres at the arena, within all the concourse areas, including the 32,000 seat stadium, plant rooms and internal walkways. The SF41 system maintains its looks and provides an anti-slip, durable surface able to cope with factors including drink spills, and heavy footfall on matchdays.

Charles Rayner, director of operations at Arena Coventry Limited, which manages the Ricoh Arena, said: "The Ricoh Arena is a unique, multi-purpose development unlike any other in the UK.

"More than one million people visited the development in the first 10 months of opening and of course the safety of these people is extremely important with us."It was one of the reasons why we chose Flowcrete and we are very happy with the results."

At the Ricoh Arena, Paul Sant, of  approved contractor Pola Flooring, based in Coventry, carried out the installation, overseeing a team of six men working to a tight construction programme of just three weeks. For Paul, the job was a real labour of love - he has been a fan of Coventry City for more than 40 years, since he was a young boy. Paul said: "The new home for the football club offers a variety of new and improved facilities not only for fans but for the West Midlands in general, providing an ideal location for conferences and exhibitions. We were delighted to have been involved in such a prestigious project."
